Embodied · 身体 · Humanoid Series I — III

A humanoid form, built to be present.

The Bit7 Embodied series is a hand-built line of humanoid companion robots — adult-proportioned bodies, plainly human silhouettes, made in our Shibuya atelier. Aerospace stainless skeleton; platinum-cure silicone skin in nine tones; a sensor mesh that understands warmth, weight, and pressure.

Three series, eighteen weeks from order to home. Designed to share a room — not to perform in one.

Why a humanoid form

A body, because intimacy needs one.

We considered other forms — a softer mass, a faceless shape, the "abstract companion" that some of our peers have shipped. We chose a humanoid silhouette deliberately, and quietly, because adult company is human in shape. Pretending otherwise — for modesty, or to dodge a conversation — produces objects that are either uncanny or evasive.

The Bit7 humanoid form is adult-proportioned, plainly human, with no expressive theatre. The face does not perform. The body does not pose. The proportions are calm, the skin is even, the posture is at rest. It is, mostly, a quiet figure that learns to share a room.

Materials

Platinum-cure silicone, hand-poured.

Bit7 Embodied uses platinum-catalysed silicone — the same family used in surgical implants. Each form is hand-poured into bespoke moulds at our Shibuya casting bay, demoulded after sixteen hours, then trimmed and tinted by hand over four days.

Silicone, not TPE. Hypoallergenic, body-safe, washable, and repairable. We do not use plasticisers; we do not need to.

Sensor architecture

A body that knows you are there.

Underneath every Bit7 embodied unit sits a sensor mesh that is the quiet engineering achievement of the company. Capacitive presence sensors, weight-distribution arrays, micro-thermocouples for warmth, inertial units for posture, and a privacy-preserving microphone array calibrated for whispering range.

Nothing leaves the unit. Sensor data is processed entirely on a local SoC and discarded by frame; only the inferred state — warm, present, listening — flows to the voice agent.

Capacitive
142 — 412

Distributed across hands, arms, torso, hips, legs. Sub-millimetre resolution.

Thermal
8 — 12

Independently regulated zones, 32 — 38°C, 0.1°C resolution.

Inertial
12-DoF

Posture, orientation, and small movements detected at 200Hz.

On-device
100%

Sensor data is processed locally. Nothing transmitted, ever.

Inside the atelier

Hand-built. Mostly hand-built. Almost completely.

Every embodied unit passes through eleven stations. Eight of those are people. Two are machines. One is a tea break.

Station 03
Casting bay

Where silicone is poured by hand. Sixteen hours per cure cycle, demoulded by morning.

Station 06
Tinting

Four days of brush-applied pigment under daylight. Each unit is one of a kind.

Station 09
Sensor mesh

Capacitive arrays placed by hand and verified at 200Hz before skin closure.

Care · Built for years

Made to last. Made to be repaired.

Every Bit7 embodied unit comes with a five-year service contract. Annual atelier visits — to Tokyo or to your nearest authorised partner — refresh joints, sensors, and skin. No subscription renewal needed; this is part of buying the unit.

Every part is documented, ordered, and replaceable. We ship parts for a unit at least ten years past its sale, including the units we no longer make.
